Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom, commonly known as MC Mary Kom, is the only female boxer to win a medal in each of the six world championships. She was the only female Indian boxer to have qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics and won the bronze medal in the 51 kg category. She was also the first ever Indian female boxer to win a gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games that was held in South Korea.

Saina Nehwal is credited with making badminton famous in India. She reached great heights in the sport and even became world no 1 in 2015.
