Leaders are supposed to be people who understand their subjects and lead them well without intimidations and cruelty. They are supposed to be adored and loved by their subjects. But there are some leaders around the world who just did the opposite by oppressing the very people who entrusted them with the leadership. They ended up ruling with an iron fist and had lust for power and recognition that overshadowed their values for humanity.

10. Idi Amin Dada
This was the Ugandan leader between 1971 and 1979. He seized power through a military coup in 1971 in the month of January overthrowing the then President, Milton Obote. His leadership was marred with political repression, human rights abuse, extra judicial killings and expelled Indians from Uganda. He was later overthrown and died in 2003 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from kidney failure.
9. Genghis Khan
He was the founder of the Great Khan empire which after his death, became the largest empire in history. He united the nomadic tribes of north eastern part of Asia and that is what brought him to power. Under his rule, he fought and conquered most of the Eurasia and used an iron fist to rule them in a military state.
8. Pol Pot
He was the Prime Minister of Cambodia and the leader of the Khmer Rouge between 1976 and 1979. He used his radical communist government to kill or force people out of the cities thus displacing millions of people causing diseases and starvation. During his reign over one million people died due to starvation, forced labor, torture, diseases or execution.
7. Vlad Tepes
This Prince of Wallace used to execute people by impalement. He ruled between 1456 and 1462 during which period there was the incipient ottoman conquest of the Balkans. His punishments were cruel and he served as the primary aspiration for the vampire. He loved torture of different forms which included facial, rectal and disemboweling and made sure that he ate and drank among corpse.
6. Ivan IV of Russia
He is well known by the name Ivan The Terrible. He was the Grand Duke of Muscovy between 1533 and 1547. He was the first leader of Russia to be proclaimed the tsar of Russia in 154. It is recorded that he burned 1000s of people in frying pans and also loved impaling people. Between 500 and 1000 people were tortured and killed on a daily basis during his reign.
5. Adolf Eichmann
He was born on March 19, 1906 and was one of the main organizers of the Holocaust. He was later hanged by the Israel state for his part in the Nazi extermination of the Jews in the World War II and he was quoted as saying that, the death of five millions Jews on his conscience gives him high satisfaction.
4. Leopold II Of Belgium
This was the King of Belgians and founder of Congo Free State. He was born in Brussels to Leopold I and succeeded him on December 17 1865 and remained king until his death. He created Congo Free state as a private project to undertake rubber and ivory extraction in Congo during which he used forced labor that resulted in death of approximately 3 million locals.
3. Adolf Hitler
This was a politician who was a half Australian, half German. He became the leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party and that when trouble started. He was the chairman and dictator of the Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945 and was the one who led the Holocaust, which brought death and destructions to millions of people. He committed suicide on April 30, 1945 where he shot himself while biting into a cyanide capsule.
2. Josef Stalin
From May 6 1941 to March 5, 1953, Josef Stalin was the Premier of the Soviet Union and was among revolutionists who brought about the Russian revolution of 1917. In 1930s through his orders, peasants numbering in the millions were killed or starved to death. For 29 years, more than 20 million people done under his iron fist rule.
1. Attila The Hun
Between 432 and 453, this was the leader of the Huns in the Hunnic Empire. In western Europe, he is remembered for being cruel and hostile to the surrounding empires which he tried to conquer and control with an iron fist.
