The animated series Horrid Henry is centered on Francesca Simon’s novels. It revolves around a boy whose constant misbehavior is meant to be funny and whose violent outbursts transform him into a frightening animal or monster. He’s known for calling people names and whining about everything he detests.
He’ll stop at nothing to avoid performing mandatory jobs such as completing errands or chores, even when it means undermining other people’s plans. His parents cannot keep him in check, and his well-mannered younger brother is frequently called names and subjected to harsh insults because he abides by the rules (“worm,” for example). Children will probably find Henry’s unusual point of view funny.
Characters of Horrid Henry
1. Horrid Henry
Henry’s name suggests that he is rather gruesome. He tends to act out in class, be impolite to others, especially his parents, and treat his arrogant and selfish brother Peter horribly. Although his family, professors, and some students don’t seem to agree, he has a decent heart and shows it by providing for his family and, in certain cases, even Peter. The eleven-year-old youngster is dressed in blue jeans, green sneakers, and a blue T-shirt with a yellow stripe running through it.
2. Perfect Peter
Henry’s younger brother Peter attends the same school as Henry. Henry frequently calls him ‘worm’ or ‘smelly nappy baby’. Peter is a bit conceited and spoilt. He would complain to his parents about the smallest things Henry did, a few of which he did not do at all, as if he were craving attention and watching Henry fall into trouble. In certain instances, such as in Horrid Henry’s Perfect Day and Horrid Henry, Horrid Headmaster, he even claims credit for Henry’s infrequently performed good deeds.
3. Mum
To Henry’s dismay, Mum—the mother of Peter and Henry—is constantly in good health and is chopping veggies for supper. She loves Peter so much that she will believe him when he lies rather than Henry when he is telling the truth. She had a pinkish top underneath her purple cardigan. She generally sends Henry to his room when he acts horribly.
4. Dad
Dad yells at Henry more often than Peter because he believes Henry is always to blame. He never believed Henry would be well-behaved, just like Mum. He frequently exhibits favoritism when it comes to the siblings, clearly favoring Peter over Henry. Though he rarely lets Henry have his way, he is always on Mum’s side and occasionally agrees with Henry.
5. Miss Battle-Axe
Miss Battle-Axe, a tough schoolteacher, teaches Henry. She may dislike Henry in particular since he constantly interrupts and interferes with her class. The rigorous teacher is quite tough even though she despises her class since many teachers have departed after teaching Henry’s class, primarily due to
6. Moody Margaret
M&T Naturally gloomy, Margaret is the major antagonist, constantly complaining and demanding her way. In the series, she is presented as a “villain.” Margaret resides next door to Horrid Henry, and Sour Susan is her best friend. Her tangerine hair is styled in a spiked ponytail. Margaret and Henry are rivals. Whereas the latter utilizes the Purple Hand fort, Margaret has a hidden society. She regularly competes with Henry as he has a gift for yelling.
