1. Fitter
In this course, a person is trained to fit, assemble or adjust the machinery. Maybe it won’t be a lucrative opportunity but according to the recent amendments, you will be paid even if you are an apprentice. The span of this course is 2 years.

2. Carpenter
This too is a 2 years course; anyone after 10th or 12th can opt for it if your situation doesn’t allow studying further.

- Finish Carpenter- Finish Carpenter involves in furniture making, instrument making, joints etc

3. Machinist
There are some people who like the smell of the machine, it makes them happy. But due to certain reasons or any other, if and buts further studies is not possible, this is the best option where you can pursue your interest & earn.
ITI students have various opportunities if they are opting for a Machinist profile:
- General Machinist- In this profile machinist deals with different types of drill presses, planning layout of work input of data, setting up and operation of various types of turret lathes, engine lathes, precision grinding machines, honing machines and single and multiple spindle automatic screw machines to perform all machining operations within the capability of the machines. The (input) data includes conventional means, (MDI), various graphics etc.
- Machinist Instructor- Machinist Instructor deals with aerospace oriented machining concepts etc.
- Machinist Tool operator-Machinist tool operator operates more than one type of machine tool like jig borer, grinding machine, fixtures, gauges metal dies or molds used in shaping or forming metal or nonmetallic material (e.g., plastic, plaster). The job role demands necessary adjustments and requisites dimensions. It can be only experienced through on the job training methods.
- Tool Room attendants- Here an individual issues tools and types of equipment for the workers, maintains the operation activity and prepare the MIS.
4. Motor Mechanics
This job is in high demand, the reputed motor companies are looking for you & you can generate a huge sum. Duration of this course is two years. If you are looking for your own business or source of other income, you can start your own garage shop.
The different career options in Motor Mechanics are as follows:
- Service Technicians – The service Technicians deals with oil and fluid levels, replacing them in line with manufacturers’ view. They also check the major electrical and mechanical components in line with service schedules. Service technicians check the operation of the fuel and ignition systems to ensure the reliability of the fuel. They diagnose problems such as poor starting or heavy fuel consumption.
- Brake and Transmission technicians – Brake & Transmission Technicians maintain the efficiency of the power train and steering components. They also have hands-on knowledge of the electronics systems that control components, such as four-wheel-drive systems.

- Installation electrician – They install systems like lighting, security, power, fire protection systems and structured cabling. This job has a wider scope and opportunity as it allows the possibility of working on larger projects. - Maintenance Electrician – The maintenance electrician involves or carries out function like fixing problems in the machinery and sees that machines run effectively and safely.
- Electrical Machine Repairer & Rewinder – Transformers, inventor, fan and compressor etc requires a specialist who can repair and rewind this type of the electrical machine.
- Electrical Installers (Domestic) – It only revolves around the home ranging from fixture from a socket, wiring etc.
