“Golmaal Jr.” is a funny cartoon series made by Rohit Shetty. It’s in many Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali, and others, so many people can enjoy it. It started on Nickelodeon Sonic on May 13, 2019, as one of the first shows on that channel.
Golmaal Jr. Main Characters:
Gopal: Gopal, also called Gopu, is a key character in “Golmaal Jr.” He’s a robust and self-assured fourteen-year-old who enjoys teasing Madhav, but he’s also afraid of the dark. Additionally, when someone points at him, he enters a trance-like state, needing to twirl around to snap out of it. Despite these quirks, Gopal is the central hero of the show and leads his team, which includes Laxman 1. He has a passion for sports and loves facing challenges. Voiced by Viral B. Shah, he captures the essence of Ajay Devgan’s character.
Madhav: Madhav, a tricky 14-year-old, loves playing pranks. He’s Captain Gajodhar and Munmun’s son. Even though he sees Gopal as his rival, he secretly looks up to him. Though stronger than Gopal, Madhav is smart and quick, always coming up with clever plans to help the Golmaal crew.
Lucky: Lucky, a twelve-year-old on Madhav’s team might look simple with his short, chubby build and lollipop, but he’s smart. He communicates through gestures and sounds understood only by Madhav and Laxman 2. Lucky’s ideas and solutions often prove invaluable to the team, even though others may underestimate him.
Laxman 1: A thirteen-year-old member of Gopal’s team, deeply admires Gopal and supports him in overcoming his fear of the dark. Despite being nervous, Laxman 1 excels in technology and languages, although his anxiety sometimes affects his academic performance. He wears a yellow shirt and glasses and often clashes with Laxman 2 from Madhav’s team.
Laxman 2: Laxman 2, also thirteen, is a key member of Madhav’s team. He enjoys teasing Laxman 1 and often predicts failure, leading to tears and negative comments. However, his remarks unintentionally provide clues to solve problems. Laxman 2 is always by Madhav’s side, and despite his chronic cold, he remains loyal and supportive. He wears a blue T-shirt and is voiced by Amaan Shaikh, who captures the essence of Kunal Khemu’s character.
Some Other Characters:
Pappi: Pappi Boss, a 31-year-old peon, works for Patwardhan Sir. His job is to catch the five kids doing naughty things with Vasooli. But he always messes up and gets scolded by Mr. Patwardhan. Even if the kids aren’t guilty, he blames them. When he hears a school bell, he starts dancing crazily. He’s voiced by Anamaya Verma, sounding like Johnny Lever.
Mr. Patwardhan: Around 60, is the strict principal of Golden Hills High School. He likes military-like rules but is also friendly. He’s impressed by Gopal and Madhav, thinking they’re great at everything. He has enemies like Vasooli, Vasu Dhasu, Principal Pangeshwar, and Moochi Pehalwan. He doesn’t know about their rivalry and thinks they work well together. The boys don’t want to break his trust or get expelled, so they keep the rivalry secret. Mr. Patwardhan loves desi sweets and hides them in his office. When he’s angry, his left eye winks uncontrollably. Vinod Kulkarni voices him.
Vasooli: Vasooli, or Vasooli Bhai, is a 19½-year-old who starts different businesses but struggles to collect money from kids. He seems tough but is actually soft-hearted and not very smart. He’s considered useless by Patwardhan Sir and Pappi, and they see him as an enemy. Nitin Kakkar voices him.
Milli: Milli is a 14½-year-old classmate whom both Gopal and Madhav like. They try to impress her, but she thinks they’re not cool. Milli usually finds Lucky impressive, but sometimes Gopal and Madhav catch her attention. Samridhii Shukla voices her.
