India is a huge democracy and voting is an important part of any democracy of the world. Democracy is a system of government in which the eligible members of the country elect the representatives for running the government by the way of voting or elections. But many people these days do not exercise their right to vote. In most of the cases, the defaulters are the youngsters who either do not have a valid Voter ID card even after attaining the minimum required age or just don’t want to exercise their right to vote. Many a times, people do not understand why voting is important and therefore they just let it be. If you want to make a government that is just and fair then you must elect such government and voting is the only way forward. Now with state elections and General elections approaching in 2019 and it is always recommended to check for your name in the voter list. Sometimes, the names could be missing or may be listed in list of some other area.
All you need is a valid voter ID card or Electoral card in order to cast your vote. It is the moral responsibility of every Indian citizen so cannot be ignored.

You can now easily check if your name is available in the voter list of not. All you have to do is follow the below mentioned steps:
- Go to the official website of the state’s election commission.
- On the homepage, you will see links to the voter lists which you need to click and then a PDF format will be visible.
- You will be able to find a state-wise electoral roll in the PDF format. Choose your residential state or the state where you are registered as a voter.
- After clicking on the link you will be redirected to a new tab where you can find if you name is available in the voter list or not. You can do so by punching in your voter ID number or your complete name.
- Enter either of these two details and press “Search”.
- In case your name is available on the voters list you would be able to see it.
- In case it doesn’t check all the information again and try again.
- If the problem still persists, then probably your name is not there on the voter’s list and you need to register for a new ID card.
Alternatively, you can go to http://www.electoralsearch.in/
You can find out the details of your voter list by either entering the details or EPIC number. It is recommended to find out the details using the EPIC number as in most of the cases, the details as entered in the Voter ID card are misspelled and you might not be able to find the accurate results.
