The KV or Kendriya Vidyalaya are schools run by the central government. This is one of the largest chains of schools in the world and have more than 1100 schools under this system in India and 3 out of India (Tehran, Moscow and Kathmandu). These schools are instituted under the guidance of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. This system was originated in the year 1963 and the earlier name of the same was “Central School”. Eventually the name got modified to Kendriya Vidyalaya. All the schools under this system have the aim to provide education to the children of the defense personnel of India who are most of the time posted to certain far-off locations. To make sure that all the schools have the same level of studies, all the schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. Since Army started its own schools called as Army Public Schools, the education was further made available to the central government employees also. The curriculum followed in these schools are uniform and they have a common system of education and syllabus. The main advantages to the students of KVs are that the students do not face any issue related to their education in case of transfers of their parents from one place to another.

How to Apply for KVS admission
For applying for online registration and application for admission to KVs, you need to first of all familiarize with the admission rules, guidelines and regulations at the following link
http://www.kvsangathan.nic.in/GeneralDocuments/ANN-27-02-2018(3).PDF
Here you would find all the general guidelines, special provisions, admission process and also various forms and formats are available here.
Parents are requested to only submit one application for one child. Multiple applications won’t be entertained and if any school finds that out, only the last application submitted to the school would be considered and all the previous ones would be considered null and void.
The step by step process for the same is as under:
- For the academic year 2021-22, all the registrations and applications pertaining to class I would be done through the admission portal.
- Please note that just registration and the submission of the application form doesn’t mean that the child can get admission to the KV. As mentioned earlier, the admissions are only offered in case the school has seats available and the application details are also as per the laid down guidelines from KVs. http://www.kvsangathan.nic.in/AdmissionGuideLine.aspx
- Parents need to check the results of the shortlisting of the individual schools on the date as announced by the KVs or individual school for declaring the results of the admission.
- If you are seeking admission under the “Special Provisions”, please go through the detailed guidelines as laid down by the KVs on the link mentioned above. The special category would be except the category of Special Girl Child. The parents are requested to submit an online application form through the online portal, and then get in touch with the Principal of the concerned school directlybut not through this admission portal. The parents must cite the enrolment id as assigned by the portal. This is unique ID and must be shared along with all the hard copies of the documents as required if applying under certain “Special Provisions”
- In case of admission under the Single Girl Child category, the parents must submit the online application form along with all the important documents or affidavits as required must be uploaded in the portal. This is just like any other process of admission application. In this case there is no requirement of meeting the Principal of the KV directly in which you are seeking the admission of your child.
- The fields that are marked with red asterisk sign (*) are compulsory to fill and the application process cannot move forward.
- The child who is seeking admission his first, middle and last name and the date of birth along with the valid mobile number and email address if required for contacting. In case the same child is seeking admission under the “Differently Abled” category, the declaration same must be given at the time of registration. Please note that these details once entered cannot be altered subsequently in the application form so the parents must enter the accurate details similar to that of documentary evidence for example birth certificate etc. available with them.
- After the registration is successfully completed, the applicant must log on to the submission portal and submit the application form. Simply registering doesn’t mean that the application form is submitted to KVs.
- The applicant shall receive a unique enrollment number after successful registration. The enrollment number is given at the time of signing up or registration along with the date of birth of the child and the registered email id. It shall be used to validate the applicant whenever he is trying to log on to the portal for application form submission.
- The parent can only fill one application form with one unique enrollment id. But they get to make a choice of up to three KVs in an individual form. In case the parents want to apply for more than 3 KVs they must register separately for the submission of application form to added KVs beyond three. For two separate registrations, the applicant can use same date of birth and email address but the unique enrolment id assigned will be different for each of the registration. This id is allotted automatically by the system. If the KV operates in two shifts, the same KV will be shown as two different KVs in the application form as shift 1 and shift 2.
- The applicants then need to “Save Application” through the button provided in the application form. The parents can also save the partially filled data and then continue filling the same form maybe later at some time available to them. Therefore, the parents are not restricted to fill up the form in one session only. Also please note that the “Save Application” button can only save the data so that the applicant can resume filling the form later and it doesn’t mean that the form is submitted to the KVs.
- For submission of the application form, it is important to log on to the portal and fill out the details as required in the form. Provide the documents also as required and click on the check box on the disclaimer where the parent must agree with the terms and conditions of the admission. After this the “Submit Your Application” button is pressed.
- In case, the parent has not filled in the mandatory fields and has not uploaded the mandatory documents, the submission of the application process would not move forward.
- In case you have submitted your application and you feel that you still need to make changes, you can do so until the last day of application which is detailed by the Kendriya Vidalaya Sangathan. You can log on to the portal with the help of your unique enrollment number, date of birth and email address which was being provided by you during the registration. But in case you did not click the check-box next to “I have read the above mentioned terms and conditions and I agree with them” and press the “Submit Your Application” button in the “Declaration and Submit” again, no changes made in the form would be visible to the KVS.
- No matter how many edits you have done in the form, you need to submit the application again. Also, the edits made in the application form which is already submitted cancels all the previous submissions made to individual Schools of KVS through the admission portal. Therefore it is of prime importance for Parents to know that “Submit Your Application” button under the “Declaration and Submit” tab of the application form is pressed surely after final edits are made to the application form.
- The documents required for admission and application form are displayed under the tab “Upload Documents” tab of the application form. The parents must upload the pictures or scan copies of the documents which are required to support the facts as mentioned by the parents. The files must be either in PDF or JPEG format and must be of the size 256 Kb at the max. Pictures with proper resolutions must be taken and it must be made sure that all the details are clearly visible. After you log in, you can see the top of the online application form some of the pro forma document samples.
- The parents must save and print the enrollment id as assigned after the registration and also after the application submission an acknowledgement page is shown so it should be saved as well.
- The parents can find the instructions to fill up the admission application form on the KVS website along with other important information as well.
- If the admission is confirmed by the KV, the original documents must be presented to the concerned school while submission of the form. For the guidelines related to admission check out http://www.kvsangathan.nic.in/AdmissionGuideLine.aspx
