Pokémon, often referred to as Pocket Monsters in Japan, is an anime television show based on the Nintendo video game franchise of the same name. It debuted on TV Tokyo on April 1, 1997, under the auspices of Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd. and in collaboration with MediaNet.
Initially, the program focused on Ash Ketchum, a 10-year-old wannabe “Pokémon Master” who competes in tournaments against creatures known as Pokémon in the Pokémon universe. Pikachu, Ash’s electric-type buddy, and a rotating cast of human friends generally accompany Ash. But by the 26th season, Liko and Roy are the main characters on the show.
Characters of Pokemon Cartoon
Ash Ketchum
Ash Ketchum serves as the primary character for the first twenty-five seasons of the Pokémon anime. His goal is to become the Pokémon Master. He is a 10-year-old trainer of Pokémon. In a loose way, he is modeled after Red, the main character of Pokémon Red and Blue. Throughout the series, Ash participated in the Battle Frontier in Kanto and the Pokémon Leagues in Johto, Kalos, Sinnoh, Hoenn, Unova, and Alola. Ash, sometimes known as Monarch, is the present-day Alola and World Champions.
Misty
For the first five seasons, Ash traveled alongside Misty, a 10-year-old Pokémon trainer, who was his first-ever traveling partner. She is regarded as a World Class Water Type Gym Leader and is an avid follower of Pokémon that are water type. Together with her three elder sisters, she served as one of the 4 gym leaders of Cerulean City. Following the original series premiere, Misty was acknowledged as the gym’s sole leader. Being the greatest “Water Pokémon Master” in the world is her dream.
Brock
In addition to being the ladies’ man and a previous Pewter City gym leader, Brock is a 15-year-old Pokémon Doctor in training. In the show, there is a recurring joke where Brock falls in love with every girl he meets and gets knocked out for a while by Misty or Max pulling him away by the ear or by Croagunk’s Poison Jab. After the Diamond and Pearl series concludes, Brock departs from anime to become a Pokémon Doctor.
May
May is Max’s elder sister and the daughter of Petalburg City Gym Leader Norman. When she gets her first Pokémon, Torchic, in Advanced Generation, she meets Ash and embarks on a journey with him.
