Voters’ ID is one of the few important documents that an Indian citizen should possess after the age of 18 years. Voters’ ID is documents issued by the Election commission of India and grant a cardholder the right to vote.
Apart from this voters’ ID is also a valid ID proof of identity, address, and age. Almost every private and government institution in India accepts the voters’ ID as proof for all the matters mentioned above.
Currently, there are only two methods to apply for a voters ID in Haryana. The traditional offline method, and the new online method.
Pre-requisite for online method
- Scanned copy of your Passport size photo
- Scanned copy of an age proof document
- Scanned copy of an address proof document
Below mentioned are the documents accepted as proof by the election commission of India.
Documents eligible for online method
- Age Proof – Birth Certificate, Driving license, High school mark sheet, PAN card, Aadhaar letter issued by the UIDAI, andPassport.
- Address proof – Passport, Ration card, Driving license, Land phone bill, Electricity bill, Gas bill, Rent Agreement, Income tax assessment bill, letter or post delivered by the Indian postal department and Water Authority bills
Apply Voters ID online Haryana
Step 1: Visit the official website of Chief Electoral Officer Haryana or click here instead http://ceoharyana.nic.in
Step 2: Now, on the Home screen you will find the option “Online Voter Registration” select this option or click herehttp://ceoharyana.nic.in/?module=pages&pageid=50, now select the “Click to register online” option on this page or click here http://www.nvsp.in/ .
Step 3: Now, the “National Voter’s Services Portal” website will open on the screen and below that numerous option to select from. From this option select the “ Apply Online for registration of new voter/due to shifting for AC” or click here instead http://www.nvsp.in/Forms/Forms/form6
Step 4: Then, a new page appears, on the new page you can find a heading “Form 6”. The form 6 is the voter’s registration form which the applicant should fill in and submit. However, the entire form will be set in Hindi as default,now; you can change the language by clicking the drop-down button above the heading and select the language. Step 5: Fill in the form carefully PS:all the fields with an asterisk (*) mark are mandatory. If youskip the asterisk marked fields the server will not accept the form.
Step 6: Now, start filling in the form; enter all the details thatincludesthe email ID and mobile number and other details PS: the email ID and mobile number should be entered mandatory because the server will send the application details and status to these two.
Step 7:Next, on the form, you will have to upload the documents as the proof the details entered. The first field is to upload “Your Photograph”, click the “Choose File” button below and a dialogue box pops up, select the passport size photo (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your saved file destination and click the “open” button on the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded
Step 8: Next upload the “Age-Proof”, click the button “Choose File” button below and a dialogue box pops up, select the Age proof document (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your saved file destination and click the “open” button on the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded. After the file gets uploaded, select the type of document uploaded from the option below using the drop-down menu.
Step 9: Next, you will have the field requesting for the “Address proof”, click the “Choose File” button below and a dialogue box will appear, select the Address proof document (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your saved file destination and click the “open” button on the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded. After the file gets uploaded, select the type of document uploaded from the option below using the drop-down menu.
Step 10: Now after completing the above procedure, complete the declaration form section as requested on the form and then click “Submit” button below.
Now the page will display the registration ID/reference ID will appear on the screen that can be used to track the status.
With this reference ID, the applicant can track the status of your application online. The procedure to track application status is mentioned below.

Step 3: Now,new pages appears on the screen with heading “Track your Application” and enter all the details as requested on the page.
Step 5: Once, you completed entering the click the “Search” button below.
Now, if the detail entered matches the records the page will display the status of your application.
Download the voters’ ID

Step 2: Now select the option “Check your name in Voter List” on the home screen or click here instead http://ceoharyana.nic.in/index.php?module=searchvoter&process=voters
Step 4: Now, on the page, you will find two option, “Search By Voter Details” and “Search By Voter ID”, select the option “Search By Voter Details” or click here instead http://web1.hry.nic.in/ceohry/VoterDetails.aspx
Step 5: Next, enter all details as requested on the form and then click the “Search” button below.
Now all the voters’ ID details will be displayed on the screen. The same screen will have an option to print the details and also download the form.
