Jammu and Kashmir is one of the states of India and so the natives of the state have to acquire a voters’ ID from the Election Commission of India to cast the vote during an election. According to the current rule, an Indian citizen with an age of 18 years or above 18-years is eligible to apply and acquire a voters’ ID card.

Almost every public and private institution in India accepts the voters’ ID as proof of identity, address, and nationality. With all this being told, in Jammu and Kashmir, there are only two methods to apply for a voters’ ID.
- Offline method and
- Online method.
The offline method is the traditional visiting the election office in person and filling in the form and submitting the form with all the proof. However, the online method is totally different. Apply Voters’ ID online Jammu and Kashmir
Step 1: Visit the official Chief Electoral officer Jammu and Kashmir website or click here http://ceojammukashmir.nic.in/
Step 2: On the CEO Jammu and Kashmir website home screen you will find several options, select the option “Online Voter Registration” or click here instead http://www.nvsp.in/
Step 3: Now the National Voters’ Services Portal appears on the screen with a heading “Form 6” and a fill-up form below it. The entire form will be set in default Hindi medium, the form language can be changed by clicking the language option on the top of the heading or click here for English http://www.nvsp.in/Forms/Forms/form6?lang=en-GB
Step 4: Now, you can start filling in the form carefully. At the beginning you see the option to select. Now, select the state as requested on the form, click the drop-down button and select “Jammu and Kashmir”, next you will have the option to select the “District” from the drop-down menu, select your district and then you will have the option to select the “assembly/Parliamentary Constituency”, select the assembly/parliamentary from the drop-down menu. PS: asterisk marked fields are mandatory. Server will not accept the form if the mandatory fields are left.
Step 5: Start filling in the form, be careful enough to enter all the details carefully as per recorded on the official documents and proof documents. On the form, at the “Optional Particulars” section there will be field’s to enter the mobile number and email ID, enter the information’s without fail.
Step 6: Now, once, you have completed the “Optional Particulars” section, then, you will find the next section as “Upload Supporting Documents”. Below this heading, the first field will be to upload “Your Photograph”, click the “Choose File” button near, to upload the photograph(passport size), Now, a dialogue box pops up, select the file (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your file destination and click the “open” button on the bottom of the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded
Step 7: The next field you will find below the “Your Photograph” field is “Age-Proof”, click the “Choose File” button to upload the age proof, a dialogue box pops up now, select the file (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from the file destination on your device and click the “open” button on the bottom and the file will be uploaded. Now, from the drop-down menu near, select the type of document uploaded.
Step 8: Now the next field after “Age-Proof” is “Address-Proof” click the “Choose File” button near to upload the address proof document, a dialogue box pops up, select the file (jpg, png, bmp, jpeg) from your file destination and click the “open” button on the bottom of the dialogue box and the file will be uploaded instantly.Now from the drop-down menu near, select the type of document uploaded
Step 9: After successful Uploading of supporting documents as requested on the form, next fill-in the declaration form provided below with all the details as requested and click the “Submit” button.
Step 10: Now, a new screen appears on the screen with a reference ID and the confirmation. Save this reference ID for tracking the status of the application in the future.
Track application status online
Once you have completed the application procedure, the same website allows you to track the status of your application form submitted. Below mentioned is the procedure to check the application status online.

Step 2: On the home screen of this website you will find the option “Claims &Objec.” Click this option or click here http://www.nvsp.in/Forms/Forms/trackstatus
Step 3: On this page enter the reference ID as requested on the form and click “Track Status” button.
Now the page will display the status of your application form.
Download Jammu and Kashmir Voters’ ID
Step 1: Visit the official Jammu and Kashmir CEO website or click here http://ceojammukashmir.nic.in/
Step 2: On the home screen page, you will find an option “Search your name”, click this option or click here http://electoralsearch.in/
Step 3: Now, a new page appears on the screen with two options “Search by Details” and “Search by EPIC No”, select one of the options and a fill in the form that appears below this includes Name, Husbands name, date of birth, gender, State, and district. Enter all the details carefully as requested and submit the form.
Step 4: Once, the filling task is completed, click the “Search” button below
Once you have clicked the Search button and if the name is added to the voters’ list, the screen will display the name on the screen, click the name and the entire details will be displayed on the screen. Below you will have the option to print and download the details. Click this option.
